    • Quick and easy- done in about 15 minutes, no peeling or cutting carrots. All you need is a bag of baby carrots and some simple ingredients.

    • Delicious- roasting carrots increases their sweetness and combined with honey they're so good.
    • Versatile - You can make these baby carrots sweet or savory, anyway you prefer, and both are equally delish. Make air fryer baby carrots with honey or with brown sugar; or a savory version with spices and herbs.

    What You Need

ingredients for air fryer baby carrots.
    • Baby carrots - use fresh baby carrots if possible. The bagged baby carrots will look moist and this is okay. But if you find any excess water inside the bag they could be spoiled and you should discard them.
    • Oil - Use a light flavored olive oil, avocado oil or vegetable oil. Melted butter is delicious too.
    • Honey - substitute with maple syrup.
    • Salt, black pepper

    1. Air fry carrots for 10 to 12 minutes until fork tender. Cook for one or two minutes more for really tender carrots.

*Air fryers come in different sizes and models, and you may need to adjust the cooking time accordingly.

    1. Drizzle with more honey and serve.

Air Fryer Baby Carrots With Brown Sugar

The next best thing apart from air fryer honey glazed carrots is this air fryer baby carrots with brown sugar. Brown sugar lends to a caramel and nutty flavor when roasted and it's definitely a treat.

To make carrots with brown sugar all you have to do is swap the honey with 1 tablespoon of brown sugar in the recipe. You can increase the amount of sugar for more sweetness.

Sprinkle more brown sugar as soon as the carrots are done cooking in the air fryer for even more deliciousness!

    Savory Air Fryer Baby Carrots

For a savory version, you have so many spices and herbs to choose from. Along with salt and pepper I like to add ½ teaspoon garlic powder, ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning with little oil. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese and chopped parsley for more flavor.

Try experimenting with different flavors and you can include herbs like oregano, thyme or basil; smoked paprika or cayenne for a little kick and lemon juice for a bit of sourness.

    Expert Tips

    • Rinse the baby carrots if needed. Dry them thoroughly with paper towels. For best results, make sure you dry the carrots whether you rinse them or not. This helps remove excess water so they get roasted nicely.
    • Line the Air fryer basket or tray with parchment paper or a silicone liner. It makes cleaning easier.
    • Place the baby carrots in a single layer. If you're cooking more than one pound, cook it in two batches.

What To Serve With Baby Carrots

These roasted carrots make a perfect side dish with main dishes like:

    • Air Fryer Chicken Breasts
    • Air Fryer Steak Bites
    • Air Fryer Shrimp
    • Air Fryer Spicy Salmon

Roasted baby carrots are great on their own as a snack too, any time of the day!

    Storing and Reheating

Storage - If you have leftover carrots, store them in an airtight container in the fridge for 3 days.

Reheat - you can reheat the baby carrots in the microwave or reheat them in the air fryer for a few minutes until warm and crisp.

Freeze - I don't recommend freezing the cooked baby carrots.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Baby carrots are made from regular carrots or broken larger carrots. A machine breaks down carrots into smaller pieces and another scrapes it down to size. Even the ends are rounded by the same process. They have the same nutritional value as regular carrots.

How Long To Air Fry Baby Carrots For?

Air fry baby carrots for 10 to 12 minutes until they're fork tender and still have a bite. If you want them really tender, cook for a few minutes more.

Do You Need to Boil Baby Carrots Before Air Frying?

No, you don't need to parboil the baby carrots. They get perfectly cooked in the air fryer.

Can You Cook Frozen Carrots In The Air Fryer?

Yes, you can cook frozen carrots in the air fryer. I recommend thawing them first for best results before seasoning and air frying them.
