Ingredients

ingredients for air fryer baby carrots.
  • Baby carrots – Fresh baby carrots work best. The bagged ones may look a bit moist, which is normal. However, if there’s excess water inside the bag or a sour smell, they may be spoiled and should be discarded.
  • Oil – Use a light-flavored oil like olive oil, avocado oil, or vegetable oil. Melted butter adds a rich, delicious flavor too.
  • Honey – Adds a touch of sweetness. You can also use maple syrup or anout 1 tabkespoon brown sugar as a substitute.
  • Salt, black pepper

Recipe Tips

  • Rinse the baby carrots if needed and dry them thoroughly with paper towels. Even if you don’t rinse them, it’s important to pat them dry, removing excess moisture helps them roast better and get those nice caramelized edges.
  • Line your air fryer basket or tray with parchment paper or a silicone liner to make cleanup easier.
  • Arrange the baby carrots in a single layer. If you’re cooking more than a pound, air fry them in two batches to ensure even cooking.

Equipment

  • Air Fryer

Ingredients

  • 1 pound baby carrots
  • ½ tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp pepper

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the carrots with 1 tablespoon honey, olive oil, salt and black pepper.
  • Preheat air fryer at 380˚F. Place the seasoned carrots in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
  • Air fry carrots for 10 to 12 minutes until fork tender. Cook for one or two minutes more for really tender carrots.
  • Drizzle with leftover honey and serve.

Notes

Variations:
  • Substitute maple syrup or 1 tablespoon of brown sugar instead of honey.
  • To make it savory, try adding herbs like Italian seasoning, oregano, thyme and garlic powder or smoked paprika. Parmesan cheese, lemon juice or chopped parsley will be great sprinkled when serving.
Storage – If you have leftover carrots, store them in an airtight container in the fridge for 3 days.
Reheat – you can reheat the baby carrots in the microwave or reheat them in the air fryer for a few minutes until warm and crisp.
Freeze – I don’t recommend freezing the cooked baby carrots.
