    Greek Yogurt Dill Dip

Looking for an easy and delicious dip that's ready in a few minutes for your next party or gathering? Then this is the dip you need. This dill dip with Greek yogurt is made with a handful of ingredients and is ready in just 2 minutes.

The tangy flavor of the Greek yogurt pairs perfectly with the refreshing flavor of fresh dill weed, making it a crowd-pleasing dip that everyone will love. It's creamy and light thanks to the Greek yogurt with a whopping amount of protein. This dip similar to Greek Tzatziki dip but without the cucumber and with plenty of fresh herbs.

Serve it as a dip with vegetables, crackers, homemade crostini, or chips for a healthy appetizer at your next party. Or use it as a sauce in your wraps, rice or salad bowls. I like to drizzle the dill yogurt sauce in my chicken shawarma or chicken fajita wraps.

    Why You’ll Love This Recipe:

    • Healthy dip: Unlike mayonnaise based dips, this Greek yogurt dip is low in calories and high in protein. So if you're watching your calories, or want to enjoy something light, this dip is perfect.
    • Quick and easy: With simple ingredients, mostly pantry staples, this comes together in minutes. It's so simple and easy that even kids will enjoy making this dip.
    • Perfect for Entertaining: This dill dip is perfect for entertaining and makes a great addition to any party or gathering. It's a crowd-pleaser that's both delicious and nutritious.

    Ingredients for dill dip

ingredients for dill dip with yogurt.

Greek yogurt - Use plain yogurt without any flavorings added. I like to use full-fat Greek yogurt for taste and thickness. You can use fat free Greek yogurt if you prefer.

Sour cream - makes the dip thick and creamy and adds more nutritional value to the dip.

Dill - this herb is the star of this dip. Dill has a refreshing flavor and I used both fresh dill and dried dill to enhance it.

Fresh lemon juice - makes the dip fresh, tangy and irresistible. For a more intense flavor, you can add some lemon zest too.

Garlic - garlic powder or minced garlic if you prefer a more pronounced garlic flavor.

Olive oil - thins down the dip and optional.

Seasonings - kosher salt, ground black pepper

Optional - add chopped chives, minced onions or onion powder if you like an onion-y taste.

    How To Serve Dill Dip

Dill dip can be served in a variety of ways, and here are some:

    • Flavorful dip: Serve dill dip as a dipping sauce for raw veggies, crackers, crostini, pita chips, potato chips or pretzels. You can include vegetables like carrots, celery, cucumber, cherry tomatoes and bell pepper. Simply place the dip in a serving bowl and arrange the dippers around it.
    • Spread or as a creamy sauce: Spread dill dip on sandwiches or wraps for a tangy and flavorful twist.
    • Salad dressing: Thin out the dip with a little bit of milk or sour cream to create a creamy salad dressing.
    • Topping: It's a perfect topping for baked potatoes, salmon, or grilled chicken.

Regardless of how you serve it, be sure to keep the dip refrigerated until ready to use, and serve it chilled. Enjoy!

    how to store

If you have any leftover dill dip, I doubt you'll do, you can store the dip in an airtight container in the fridge for 4 to 5 days.

This dip keeps fresh, chilled in the fridge and overtime develops flavors. In case you see any excess water on the top, just stir it right back in. Check for seasoning and if it has mellowed, add some salt.

Can you make dill yogurt dip with regular yogurt?

Yes, you can make this dip with regular yogurt instead of greek yogurt. The consistency will be more of a sauce than a dip. You can get rid of the excess water in regular yogurt by letting it strain through a kitchen cloth placed on a strainer, overnight in the fridge.

What can I substitute for sour cream in the dip?

Sour cream adds tang and creaminess to this healthy dip. That being said, you can absolutely substitute it with more Greek yogurt. Or you can add mayonnaise too.
