I love a good chocolate milkshake on a hot summers day! More chocolate the better. Missing your regular sugar and carb laden milkshakes? I got you covered with this recipe.

You don’t have to give up your favorite treats on keto. You just have to tweak a little bit. This double dose of chocolate milkshake will get your happy hormones up and running because it uses both cocoa powder and sugar free chocolate chips.

It’s a breeze to make too. Just gather your ingredients and let your blender do all the hard work.

This a yummy low carb keto milkshake without using tons of heavy cream. I have used the bare minimum to give the creamy taste and added Xanthan gum to make it thick and luscious. You can indulge in a milkshake everyday without any guilt.

Ingredients For Sugar Free Chocolate Milkshake

  • Unsweetened almond milk– It’s keto and low carb friendly. Coconut milk from a carton (not from a can) will work too.
  • Heavy whipping cream– Not too much.
  • Cocoa powder or Cacao powder – both works well. Make sure it’s unsweetened.
  • Sugar free Sweetener – Stevia, Erythritol or a Monk fruit based sweetener all work.
  • Xanthan gum – this will help thicken milkshake and give that creaminess without too much cream. Skip this if you want and add more cream but I highly recommend it you use it.
  • Sugar free chocolate chips – Use one that is stevia or erythritol sweetened.
  • Vanilla Extract, Pinch of salt– to enhance the flavors.

How To Make Low Carb Chocolate Milkshake

Ingredients for keto double chocolate milkshake

Gather all your ingredients. Add unsweetened almond milk, heavy whipping cream, sweetener, cocoa powder, xanthan gum, salt to the blender. Do not add the chocolate chips now. We are going to blend the shake twice. First, we need to blend it smooth then add the chocolate chips and crush them to small bits.

Keto Milkshake Add-ins

Make it even more yummy or nutritious with these options.

  • Avocado – makes it even more creamy. Use about 1/4 of an avocado.
  • Protein powder or Collagen– a half scoop of protein powder (unflavored) or collagen

This milkshake is best consumed fresh but it will stay up to a day in the fridge. Give it a quick blend to make it frothy if consuming it the next day.
