Homemade Chai Spice Mix

Make your own chai spice blend at home with 6 simple ingredients. This is recipe is the perfect balance of sweet and spicy. Great for your drinks, desserts, and more!

Ingredients
 

  • 1 tbsp Ground Cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp Ground Cardamom
  • 1 tbsp Ground Ginger
  • ½ tbsp Ground Nutmeg
  • ½ tbsp Ground Cloves
  • 1 tsp Ground Black pepper

Instructions
 

  • Mix all ingredients - cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, nutmeg, cloves, and black pepper, and blend thoroughly until well combined.
  • Store in an airtight jar until ready to use. Start with ¼ teaspoon and increase as needed, or use the amount per the recipe.

Notes

  • Buying pre-ground spices and blending makes the process easier.
  • Freshly ground black pepper is far more spicier than the store-bought ones. So use what you prefer.
  • This chai spice mix will keep fresh in an airtight jar for up to 3 months.
  • Keep your spices in a cool dark place, away from sunlight to extend shelf life.
