Cut chicken breasts into even 1-inch cubes and place in a bowl.
Add oil, salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder. Toss well to coat evenly. Let rest for 5 minutes.
Arrange chicken in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Air fry at 350℉(175℃) for 10 minutes.
Remove basket. Brush or toss the chicken bites with BBQ sauce.
Return to air fryer and cook for a further 2 to 3 minutes until the sauce is sticky and slightly caramelized.
Serve immediately or cool and store for meal prep.
Chicken thighs: Boneless skinless thighs are a great swap. Same method, slightly juicier result.
Spice it up : Add 1/4 tsp cayenne to the seasoning mix or use a spicy BBQ sauce.
Storage: Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the air fryer at 350F for 3 to 4 minutes.
Freeze: Freeze cooked, un-sauced bites for up to 2 months. Reheat from frozen at 350F for 6 to 8 minutes, then sauce and finish.
