– Canned Tomatoes – Butter – Onion – Garlic – Broth or Bouillon cube – Cream – Sugar – Seasonings - salt, pepper, paprika and red pepper flakes
Heat the butter in a large pot or dutch oven over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic and sauté until the onion is translucent, about 2,3 minutes.
Add the canned tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, salt, black pepper and paprika. Break up the tomatoes with the back of a spoon and stir to combine all the ingredients.
Add water and bouillon cube or broth. Bring the soup to a boil and then reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for 15 minutes.
Use an immersion blender to puree the soup until smooth and gradually stir in the heavy cream. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed. Serve with crusty bread!
