Easy sauteed apples on a plate
Farwin
These sauteed apples are lightly sweetened with maple syrup and are quick and easy to make. Cooks in no time. Great on porridge, chia pudding or just as a snack. They also happen to be gluten free.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoon butter
  • 2 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon optional
  • 4 apples peeled, cored and sliced thinly or chopped
  • 2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cornflour
  • ¼ cup water

Instructions

  • In a large pan over medium heat, melt the butter.
  • Add the maple syrup, cinnamon and apples. Mix the apples in the mix to coat.
  • Cover the pan and cook for 5 minutes. If the apples are still hard, you can add the water and cook it for further 3 to 5 minutes. I don't like mine soft so I cook for about 7 minutes. Cook for 10 minutes for soft apples.
  • Once the apples are cooked to your liking add the vanilla and stir.
  • Mix the cornflour in 2 tablespoons of water and add to the apples and cook for 1 more minute for a silky sauce. If you're not using cornflour, remove the apples from heat and let it cool. I like mine warm.

Notes

  1. Store the leftovers in a container in the refrigerator for upto 5 days.
  2. Warm it in the microwave or stove top when ready to eat.
